NordDesign 2024 – Call for Papers

The University of Iceland and Reykjavik University are delighted to invite participation in the 2024 Norddesign conference, which will take place August 12-14 at the University of Iceland and is organized by the University of Iceland Department of Industrial Engineering in collaboration with the Reykjavik University Department of Business Administration.

Norddesign is a biennial Nordic conference covering a breadth of topics in design, design engineering, and design education.

Norddesign is known for its friendly and informal atmosphere, and PhD students are particularly welcome.


Conference theme: Design with/for/by AI

The conference theme reflects the current preoccupation with how AI (artificial intelligence) is changing all kinds of human endeavors, including design. Contributions addressing this multi-faceted issue are encouraged.

Proceedings

The papers presented at Norddesign 2024 will undergo peer review by members of the NordDesign Scientific Committee. Authors can opt to include their papers in the conference proceedings, published by the Design Society and indexed in Scopus.


Submission guidelines

The guidelines for submission are as follows:

• Submissions dealing with any relevant topic aligned with the tracks listed above

• Empirical papers using any methodology, including novel methodologies, are preferred over theoretical papers

• Submissions should be 6-10 pages in length and must be prepared using the NordDesign template provided below

The number of papers to be accepted is limited, and each author may only present one paper.
